Members moonstone
I really loved the idea of having the Jack in the strap endpin so when I found a transducer - Pre-amp - "ULTRAJACK" I was really excited and went right to work on the install. Got past a few snags like the depth of the bridge under the sadle. Wired everything up put in the battery plugged in and all I got was silence. Checked all the connections ... even re-read the instructions then as I was disconnecting I hear a "POP" of the pre-amp turning on and it sounded like it was working. So if I hold the plug just right the Guitar is amplified! WoooHooo. It was at that point that I realized that I needed the second hand that was "holding the plug just right in the jack" for playing the guitar. Bummer. I've tried 3 or 4 different cords with the same results. So now I'm about a week into the install and getting pretty frustrated. Feals good to vent though! Is the endpin sticking out far enough from the body of the guitar? DW
Members moonstone
The PLUG fit's snug in the Jack. The Jack is made for stereo i.e. TIP, Ring, Sleeve + PWR. I think the issue is with the portion of the jack that is supposed to remove power to the pre-amp when the guitar is not plugged in to extend the battery life. I'm going to dismantle tonight and measure the tip, sleve connections with an OHM meter.
