Members Blackface
I have a classical guitar with neck bow causing buzzing on the 3rd-7th frets. On a normal guitar, I'd just adjust the truss rod, but this being a classical guitar, I cannot do that. I have the lowest tension strings I could get, will getting higher tension strings pull the bow out or the neck or what?
Members UGB
I would think it would. The area you describe would seem to be the area of impact if there were too much back bow.
Members Blackface
Yes, the problem is too much bow for sure I'm just hoping high tension strings bring out the bow enough to not buzz. I just wanted to know if this was the normal thing to do or what.
Members styxnstones
I had a similar problem with a vintage classical. I had to have a luthier remove the back bow in the neck. This was quite expensive (~$500) but that guitar was worth it. Worked beautifully though. Good luck. Matt
Members jaymer
there is very little else you can do on classical guitars really.
Members Blackface
Well, I got extra high tension strings and it didn't pull the bow out. I guess I'm screwed.
Members UGB
What kind of guitar is it? I know many don't have truss rods but some do. Waldens do and that's what I have. I'm sorry to hear about that. How long have you had that set on there? It could take a bit of time maybe?
Members Blackface
It's a Cordoba C5-CE. I've had them on overnight, maybe it'll pull out if I leave them on longer.
