I'm a bassist but am asking on behalf of the rhythm guitarist in my country band. He play a 12 string acoustic (Fender), a Strat and a homemade Tele. He's looking for an inexpensive 6 string acoustic/electric to play on a few songs with the band. The SX line of basses are amazing for the price. I bought my son/daughter one for $100 and have been impressed with it. Link Any thoughts? He's not likely to drop major coin for a Taylor/Martin at this point in time. Members Herb Hunter Posted October 3, 2005 Members Share Posted October 3, 2005 A Taylor Big Baby with an aftermarket Fishman Acoustic Matrix Natural II bridge pickup will sound as good as more expensive guitars as heard through your PA or your friend's guitar amp. The Big Baby is a quality guitar with good action. Its a 15/16-scale Dreadnought with a solid Sitka spruce top and sapele wood laminate back and sides. The Big Baby's street price is less than $500 (quite a bit less on eBay) and the Acoustic Matrix Natural II pickup goes for less than $120.
