Members Giorgi
Hey guys! I really like the concept of distributing music online and prices and all the legal hassle apart, I just don't appreciate the way iTunes charges for every song... However it seems to be the only 'known' distribution site in Europe. In fact, before reading this forum I had no idea Tunecore or others existed - and they are much more interesting financially, imo. So, are there any alternatives to iTunes in Europe?
Members hans-jürgen
The first European site that comes to my mind is www.last.fm which also has a French version, as far as I know. You can create an artist or label account there for free and manage your page/s, i.e. uploading MP3 files and videos, pictures, biographies etc. You can choose to participate in their Artist Royalty Program as well which will pay you for the total plays of your songs. Other possibilities depend on your membership in national copyright societies like the GEMA in Germany for example. If you are not a GEMA member, you could join several sites who distribute your music for free, e.g. www.openmusicsource.net or others.
