Members Chippsta Posted February 19, 2007 Members Share Posted February 19, 2007 I play an acoustic mandolin with a piezo pickup in a loud "americana" style band (think Van Morrison, Mellencamp, Dylan, etc) I've been wrestling with this big honkin Trace-elliot amp for months and decided that i wanted to try something different ... i also wanted the bass player on the other side of the bandstand to be able to hear me a little better. Going 'direct' into the board didn't sound right to me, so i picked up a cheap little ART tube preamp and that sounds much much better. I don't want to spend a ton on this, so does anyone have any ideas of a little better pre that might give me some more tone shaping ? Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
