You can do it yourself, at least if the nut does not need work--that I leave for the pros (though I have replaced a couple). See one, do one...teach one!

Thanks again for the advice, Rjoxyz. With a little bit of sanding and some new strings, my guitar is playing better now and my money is sill in my pocket :thu:

I guess only time will tell if I'll remain happy with this setup, but, for now, I'm a happy camper.

I was a little uncomfortable the first couple times I did it. After setting up a couple more, it became fairly routine. Just have to know what you are after and move deliberately. Can be tedious, but rewarding.

Some web sites are really helpful, knowledge-wise as is Freeeman's original thread (now on the Annex).
