Members DarkHorseJ27
I picked up a CD of Hawaiian slack key guitar at Barnes and Noble, and I am really liking the music. Does anyone know of a good book that has Hawaiian slack key guitar instrumentals?

I'll have to go back to the CD and see who I like more. I have another book by Mark Hanson, Fingerstyle Wizard, which has a bunch of fingerstyle arrangements of the songs from the Wizard of Oz, and it is a pretty good book. Ozzie's all instrumental. Haven't once heard him sing. Don't think he wants to. He's more old-school and he's also been a long-time teacher at the University of Hawaii. I'm waiting for his second book. You might want to buy his DVD directly from him here. Keola does both instrumental and vocals. Some of his recent albums blend some of the old stuff with new-age. Nothing wrong with that either (as long as the results are good). Mark Nelson recently released a book on some real old-school stuff. Check out the CD first to see if it's to your taste. You can play the samples on that last link that I provided.
