GOOD STEREO DIRECT BOX SUGGESTIONS?

I am running a Godin xtsa into a Roland GR-33 into a Roland AC90. I have a real hot signal coming from the line out into the snake. I know I need a good direct box, but I am suffering the old analysis paralysis in my research. I need real-world advice from anyone using a similar setup.

 

I am thinking now that I should run the Roland out by itself into a good stereo di box, and the Roland by itself into a good Di box as well. Both would have attenuation pads for the hot signal.

 

Can I use my active ART tube preamp as a Di?

 

As far as that goes, what would be the pros and cons of using an active or passive Di?

 

Any suggestions on make/model? Preferrably not too expensive. I'd like to stay under $200 if at all possible.
