Circle of fifths and DADGAD

Just wondering, well hoping, that music theory is structured the same whatever the tuning.

 

Been listening to a little of Martin Simpson playing his Sobel (sp) and the treble sounds like nothing else Ive heard. As he is an exponent of alternate tuning Im assuming DADGAD is more treble biased but understand very little so fully expect to be proved wrong, and, in the process, learn more.

The theory remains the same but the fingerings change. Some things that were possible in standard tuning are very difficult in an open tuning like DADGAD and vice-a-versa.
