Members Cougar Hunter
Okay, a 6 string baritone tuing from b to b with about a 27" scale. What would be the proper gauge? It seems as though the increased scale would compensate somewhat for the light tension problems of lighter strings. BTW I play .009's tuned to standard or down a half step on a 25 1/2 scale

Members Shocker
Yep. And I play with either Elixer 68's (with a wound Ernie Ball G string) or a set of Ernie Ball 72's I had to put together from individual strings on my 27.75"; they should work fine on 28 5/8". (The set I made looks like a 72 with a set of 52's or so down to the B string, which should be like a .14, so, approximately, 72, 52, 44, 33, 18, 14). //S

Actually, I found out, it's a scale of 27.67".
