That is correct, but my experience playing EMG's is that for all intents and purposes they are practically noiseless.

That's different.

You said low impedence means they're noiseless.

 

There are several reasons the sound that way, low impedence is one of them.

Well I know if you have humming with an EMG pickup then you've got something wired wrong or a bad pickup.

Yeah.

AND?

 

My point is that a low impedence device is not neccesarally noiseless.

 

The lower amount of windings, the EXTREMELY gated internal preamp, AS WELL AS the lower output impedence all add up to a lower noise signal.

 

I still hate how they sound.
