Do I need to setup the intonation of a guitar after removing the neck?

If I have a guitar with a Floyd Rose trem and decide to remove the neck to install a new one, do I have to setup the guitar for intonation, even though I didn't touch the Floyd Rose trem? What if the tremolo is a Wilkinson? Thanks.

You don't really have to. But it probably threw it off a little. You might want to wait and let the guitar settle a while before you do though. Do you have a way to check the intonation? Such as a strobe tuner?

The intonation will defineately be off, at least a little.

I have downloaded

http://www.jhc-software.com/gtune.htm

to my pc.

It's a very accurate strobe tuner.

You will need an adapter to plug your guitar into the mini jack

mic input of your soundcard but that should be it.

The trial version gives you 10 minutes of use at a time but no big

deal.

Hope this helps.:)

There are a bunch of other good websites too.

Hope this helps!

Not that easy with a Floyd Rose
