Members econ
If I have a guitar with a Floyd Rose trem and decide to remove the neck to install a new one, do I have to setup the guitar for intonation, even though I didn't touch the Floyd Rose trem? What if the tremolo is a Wilkinson? Thanks.
Members A 11
You don't really have to. But it probably threw it off a little. You might want to wait and let the guitar settle a while before you do though. Do you have a way to check the intonation? Such as a strobe tuner? Members econ
I don't have the tools necessary to check the intonation and also don't know how to do it.
Members miked58
Setting your intonation is easy. You want the open string and the 12th fret to be the same. Usually you only need a tuner and a screwdriver (sometimes an allen wrench) Check out http://www.fretnotguitarrepair.com/intonation.htm There are a bunch of other good websites too. Hope this helps! Members jrfan
The intonation will defineately be off, at least a little. I have downloaded http://www.jhc-software.com/gtune.htm to my pc. It's a very accurate strobe tuner. You will need an adapter to plug your guitar into the mini jack mic input of your soundcard but that should be it. The trial version gives you 10 minutes of use at a time but no big deal. Hope this helps.

Members mdog114
I would setup the whole guitar if I were changing necks.
