With Epiphone what's the difference b/w the Elite and non-Elite models-- besides price?

The main difference is build quality and build location. The Elite models are being built in Japan and the QC is considered to be as good if not better than Gibson QC in the States.

Materials and build quality. The non-elite's are mostly mahogany/alder bodied, while the Elites are all Mahogany. The elites are built in Japan, while the others are Chinese built. The quality of the finished product is easily seen (at least by me) between the two, and oh yeah, they use USA pickups in the elites, but not in the others.

 

I have an Elite, and hands down without a doubt, no contest it's better than ANY non-elite Epi I've played or owned (I've owned 2 stds and 1 custom). It's not a Gibson, but it's a great guitar in it's own right, and if it were finished the same it'd be a very tight race......just my .02
