Members MalusAranea
I was wondering if any of you other DJ's are feeling the impact of Serato on your local music scene. My city is being flooded with a ton of assholes with a laptop. At first I was excited and embracing the technology, but with the ease of use and the decline of the music industry. The value of the DJ has gone way down, and the BIG dj's here are all over-inflated mp3 diggers. I'm in a strictly vinyl crew called the Bargain DJ collective, and we're fighting the good fight and holding down many gigs throughout town. It's just getting to be a pain fighting for gigs against these untalented hacks. I'm just interested to see if any of you are feeling the impact of this phenomenon? - spidey
Members Manipulate
A lot of musicians would say the same thing about DJs using records instead of instruments. To me its an issue of being able to give the audience something the other guy can't. Equipment can't replace skills so if you've got skills you should win out. I would view Serato as another item in the craftsman's tool box. V.
