I like guitars but I have a problem paying $2000 for really good ones,so I spend A LOT LESS and get average gear. My guitars aren't what you would call quality,but they get the job done. My gear includes: 1..MIM Fender Stratocaster 2...Yamaha Pacifica 312 3...Squire Telecaster,Standard Series 4...Takamine EGS-430SC (bought used) 5...Epiphone PR-350ce (discontinued) 6...Yamaha APX classical,540AN.(also used) 7...Washburn Batamn Bass XB-100 I have just one amp right now,a Peavey Transtube EFX 212 and a Peavey 75 watt bass amp. I also got a cheap pa .I got the 300 watt box for $95 and paid new all the speakers,stands,mics,mic stands etc. as I went along. I'm not complaining a bit,the electrics could be and probably will be modified at one point. The Takamine was a killer find,all wood,cedar top,mahogany back and sides. Members TheBoatCanDream Posted August 13, 2005 Members Share Posted August 13, 2005 Cheep guitars are ok, if they're set up well.... including filing down any high frets.... if they have good or aftermarket tuners, and functional or aftermarket pickups..... sometimes a new nut..... and a definish (sanding down the poly coat to just before the sealer, 3mm plastic finishes kill the instrument's sound).
