I just picked up a Tascam SX-1 (DAW in a box & digital mixer) from Full Compass for well under $2000 delivered. If you don't mind the 16 track recording limit, it's a heck of a deal. I can understand why it didn't sell really well at its introductory price of $9000, or even the reduced price a couple years later ($6000), but at the blow-out price I couldn't resist. This thing has an amazing set of features, and sounds pretty darn good. I don't work for Tascam, Full Compass, or anyone else, for that matter - I just thought this might be of interest to the project studio crowd.
