Use short high quality cables and it shouldn't be a major problem for most purposes. Apart from the obvious hum-canceling over long lines, balancing circuitry is extra circuitry. On some purist preamps, unbalanced outputs are used to avoid degrading the sound (e.g. Buzz Audio, for the unbelievers). Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
