Members nosamiam
Ok folks, I think I have an idea what the problem is here, but here's the situation. I just got a pair of Fostex PM-1 monitors and I think I blew one of them. The other one is fine. When the monitor is powered on the woofer sucks inward and stays that way until I turn it off and a hum (assymetrical square wave?) comes from it. This is with or without signal going into the amp. Anyone had this happen to them? Is it something user fixable? I'm relatively experienced with electronic gadgets and with fixing broken things. Is it a goner? Any info/pointers would be helpful. Thanks.
Members where02190
Sounds like the low end amp went boom boom. If you're electronically gifted, you could probably fix it, otherwise, it's off to the shop time if they are out of warranty.
Members nosamiam
Yeah, I figured it was something like that. I'm gonna crack it open and take a look. I've got a spare (3rd speaker) with 2 bad drivers and AFAIK good amps. Thanks for helping me out.
