Members seraphim7s
I'm thinking Neil Young circa "Everybody Knows this is Nowhere" or Jeff Tweedy on Wilco's last offering... basically I want a noisy, crackly guitar sound *without having to add distortion* Maybe a bit of overdrive, tho. I like the idiot savant style of playing that Graham Coxon goes in for. Basically because I can't play very well.
Members Markee
Neil Young gets all his sound from maxing out a tweed Deluxe amp circa 1959. His guitar has a single coil P-90 in the neck and a Firebird PU in the bridge. The volume Neil plays at is too loud for all but medium to bigger venues. You can achieve Neil tone at reasonable volumes if you hook up a good fuzz pedal in front of the amp. A good delay would also help.
