Difference in a Maple neck and Mahagony on a Les Paul

What, if any, are the main differences between these two?

 

Context is im deciding whether to purchase an Epi LP Custom or an Epi Zakk Wylde LP.

Get a Midnight LP Custom with real EMG's for $599 - $45 right now at MF. I have one and like it alot. Much better deal than the Zakk unless you must have that ridiculous bullseye.

in the epi, not much, maybe a little brighter, but basically all you're hearing are EMG's, you could mount those on a plastic body and they'd sound the same

As for weight, the Zack Wylde may be heavier as maple is heavier than mahogany

Go with the custom, the ZW is overpriced for what your getting

Not true. There isn't a pickup made that can do that.

 

A maple neck will give a more brighter tighter sustain. Mahogany will have a fatter warmer sound.
