Members tiger roach
Without pics to go by, I am forced to assume the more expensive one is the way to go.
Members C-4
Do you have the opportunity to play either of these two guitars? If yes, try to use either your own amp or one as close to what your make and model is as possible? Check for any anomalies on either guitar and make sure the neck has been adjusted before you buy it. If the neck cannot be adjusted to your liking, forget that guitar and move on, even if you do your own set-ups. Listen for the tones that you like the best. From your description one is a Standard or variant, and the other is a LP Custom. The Custom has an ebony board whereas the Standard has a rosewood board. They both may have different pickups as well. These things alone will give the guitar a different playing feel, attack, and tone. You may not care for one of them over the other on this fact alone. How do the necks vary in depth and size? You may want to play them for feel on this alone as well. That is a lot of money to be spending. You could possibly have one shipped from the USA brand new for what the more expensive one costs. Sorry to ask so many questions but just choosing one over the other based on no information is not a wise thing to do.
Members piper19
I know, I'm gonna see and try them this weekend, maybe it's none of the two who knows...The custom is in a second hand guitar repair shop, so I trust this more, as the tobacco is "just from a guy on the net". Members GCDEF
I like Standards better than Customs. A 92 Standard should be a fine guitar.
Members riffpowers
I have a 91 standard in tobacco sunburst and a black 1990 custom. I'm selling the custom to get another standard. Enough said??!!!
