Members Matter-Eater Lad
I want it always to be in parallel when I switch to it with a 5-way blade switch. I have a DiMarzio, so I have a red, white, black and green + bare/shield. I know if I wanted always series I would solder the black+white wires together. The other pickup in the guitar is weak so want to bring this one down a little.
Members guitarcapo
I would think you would solder red to black, white to green One of the twosolder joints would be grounded and one would be "hot" depending on the polarity you wanted humbucker to be. Am I right on this?
Members Guitarman 5
Go here it'll explain parallel and series wiring in words and pictures for all pickup configurations.http://www.1728.com/guitar.htm
Members air guitar
Solder the red and white wires together. And the green and black wires together. The red and white become the hot output. And the green and black become the ground output. Personally I think series sounds much better.
Members Matter-Eater Lad
In general I like series too. This is a neck pickup and just overpowers the bridge pickup when I switch to it. I even lowered it all the way down, level with the body. Still too big. Thanks for the link.
