Members Matter-Eater Lad Posted January 9, 2006 Members Share Posted January 9, 2006 I put this Allparts SMO replacement neck on my Strat and I am surprised at how fat it is. I'm getting thumb pains. I'm used to Ibanez Wizards. I don't expect to go that thin but do you think I can sand maybe an 1/8" off? The truss rod at the heel end is mounted very close to the fretboard, which if it is straight would mean I could take a lot off. Unless the truss rod cavity curves like the old Fender style.
