I currently have the Desktop Dual-Booted and will continue to use it in this manner. I also have the Laptop Dual-Booted. If you guys could jump in and lend some wisdom, I would appreciate it. I'm using Cubase, so as I understand it, the VSTis would be handled by the Desktop (not as powerful as the Laptop) and The Audio would be handled by the Laptop.
