Members BrassMonkey
I recently bought a guitar with a Kahler. Are there any secrets to know when setting these things up. What are the first things I should do after I restring? Should I restring to pitch and then lock down the nut? Also, where should the fine tuners be set at when I'm at this stage? Any advice is appreciated as I am new to this whole Kahler thing.
Members 03hal
Work the bar a bit to stretch the strings, then tune to pitch, then lock the nut. Leave the fine tuners backed out (turn them counter-clockwise), as you'll usually only have to tune "up" to pitch after heavy use of the trem. Also, depending on the model you have . . . if you have the "cam-lock" nut, you don't need to tighten the screws beneath the cams very much to effectively lock the strings. Enjoy that trem- I miss mine.
