Members Bruce Bennett
you should have an instruction sheet that came with your new pickups. The bare wire on your old pickup is the ground and the white "inner" wire is the hot lead. I'm not familar with GFS pickups personally, so I can't tell you the specific color code, but two of them will be wired together and taped off. this is the coil tap. while the bare wire is always the shield wire and will go to the same place as the bare wire on the old pickup. the remaining two colors will be hot and ground. your instruction sheet should give you the color code. Members Bruce Bennett
then I would try Black to hot and green to Ground. that would be standard for Seymour Duncan and many others. Oh and it's perfectly OK to tye the green and bare wires together.

This is correct for GFS pickups as well, I can confirm this having installed a pair a couple of weeks ago.
