Members Janx
Hi, I'm trying to figure out what kind of tremolo my Yamaha SE700E has. Various refererences (HC reviews) and an e-bay sale imply it has a Floyd Rose Locking Tremolo. However, looking at Floyd's site, and reading Wikipedia (which shows clearly how it works) doesn't compare to what I've actually got on my guitar (and I believe it to be stock HW). Here's the Wiki article:http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Floyd_Rose Here's an E-bay auction with the EXACT same guitar model I have:http://cgi.ebay.com/Yamaha-SE700E-Translucent-Red-Purple-Pink-CUSTOM_W0QQitemZ7405196851QQcategoryZ33049QQcmdZViewItem There's not a good close-up of the bridge, but I can tell by looking at it that I've got the same thing. With this bridge, it doesn't descend into the body (no cavity). Basically, all this seems counter to what the Floyd Rose is defined as. Furthermore, the trem doesn't say Floyd Rose on it anywhere, nor does it look like the FLoyd's pictured. My guitar tech was surprised when I brought it in, he hadn't seen that style of trem before. So, does anybody know what I have on my Yamaha? Is everybody else on crack for calling it a Floyd Rose? For the record, my Ibanez has a Floyd Rose. I know what one looks like and how it behaves.
