Members constrict Posted April 24, 2006 Members Share Posted April 24, 2006 Does it mean anything when you're able to tighten the truss rod, but after loosening to the point where the neck is straight, it stops and the rod doesn't do anything? Members ajcoholic Posted April 24, 2006 Members Share Posted April 24, 2006 yes, it means you have a single action truss rod that can only tighten, and increase the tension opposite the string pull. It does nothing to work with the strings to increase the string clearance. Thats where a dual action rod shines. You can force the neck to go either way. Only easy way to have more "bow" in the neck in your case is to use a heavier guage of strings that will increase the tension on the neck.
