Members Alanfc
hey all, don't know if this is way ignorant but- Yesterday my Yorkville YMSp-1 monitor on the right side became dark and muddy compared to the left. After making sure I hadn't done anything stupid with my panning or an EQ on the right (in this case a guitar track), my last resort was to unplug the 1/4" jacks from both monitor and USBsound box/card thing, cleaned them off, put them back in...and all was well & back to normal.. This got me to thinking,,, this right monitor sits a foot away from a window thats open quite often, do we think there may be a scary amount of dust inside the back of the monitor by now? Theyve got these vents that surely could accumulate dust. Do you think its safe for me to take the backing off the monitors and check/clean them out? I know my problem seemed to be the jack but it got me to thinkin. I do have covers for them but haven't been using them thanks if you ve got any advice
Members TBush
Well it sure ain't gonna hurt- I think that the connection got slightly corroded. I use the ProGold spray cleaner stuff on those kind of connesctions and it seems to keep everything nice and contacted.
