Members thesinner66
So I'm thinking of making a Dan Armstrong Lucite copy but w/ a mahogony body. I owned one of the ones reissued from ampeg that were made out of wood. But those had a short scale neck and while I liked it...the neck drove me crazy. I've already tried Warmoth, but it doesn't seem they have that style of body. But I know how there are companies that are making very good copies (eastwood, dillion etc..). So would anyone know of anyone making a dan armstrong copy?

Members Clyde42
I know of no current copies of that body style, but Ampeg is re-reissuing the Dan Armstrong plexiglass. Should be hitting stores in the next month or two. There were heaps of Japanese copies made in the '70s labelled, Univox, Electra, Ventura, Ibanez, and others. You can find them all on ebay at times, though they are no longer super cheap. BTW, the wood bodied Ampeg Crystal Cut guitars were not reissues of Dan Armstrong guitars, Ampeg just lifted the headstock and body shape.
Members thesinner66
I heard they were going to reissue them again....but the thing is...I don't think I want to spend 2 grand on it! Also there's just the fun in custom making one to my specs!
