Members underblu
Do long neck tenons really make a different in sustain? I was at GC checking out amps with my gibby LP standard. My standard weighs in at 8.5 lbs and has 57 neck 57+ bridge. Since I was checking stuff out I played a 59 RI a real beaut and the only other LP in the store that seemed as light as my LP. I was trying to discern a difference in sustain between both guitars but couldn't. Of course a semi-noisy GC isn't the ideal site for critical listening. Members Skybone
It's a matter of opinion, and you know what opinion's are like... Personally, I think they do make a difference, as you have a greater area of wood to wood contact at the joint, which gives a better transferrence of sound/vibration/whatever.However, it could all be a load of old b******s...
