Moderators Ratae Corieltauvorum Posted May 30, 2006 Moderators Share Posted May 30, 2006 Should the holes in the body be drilled clearance size so that the screws pull the neck onto the neck pocket. If not why not?
Members Bruce Bennett
i do,, and i chamfer the bolt holes on both pocket and neck just to make sure no wood is holding the neck up off the pocket floor. I have heard it make a big difference in Strats and Teles, sustain wise.
Moderators Ratae Corieltauvorum Posted May 30, 2006 Author Moderators Share Posted May 30, 2006 Thank you Bruce. I'm just trying to mount a new neck and the body has threads in it and as an engineer I know that pull down with two threaded sides is very difficult, but I thought there might be a reason why they did it like that. Clearance it is then old fruit.
Members Bruce Bennett
personally, the only reason i can find they would do that.. Is ignorance.
