Thicker gauge with Floating Trems?

Hello there,

 

Just wondering if any of you guys use thicker gauge strings with a floating trem. Like 10s or 11s.

 

I'm using .10s, not really considered heavy, but it's heavy enough to make my trem real stiff.

 

I know floating trems favour lighter gauge.

Problem is, I like thicker strings, sounds better. But I just hate it when the trem gets so stiff and unwieldy.

 

Any of you guys have the same experience, or dilemma? Any plausible tips/tricks to get over this problem? Or is it a plain 'win some, lose some' issue?
