Members pureanalog
Can you please recognize this Ibanez RG? I just bought it off ebay. I will give you all the clues I have. On the back of the neck right before the neck pocket it says made in korea. Neck and fretboard are maple. The neck is not a wizard thin neck. Its kind of like fender thickness though with a flat top, not quite rounded. The neck pocket is not the kind of vintage metal plate (fender type), but neither is it a modern Ibanez all access joint. The pickups are INF and the tremolo is Ibanez Lo-Trs. Frets are extra jumbo large frets. The serial number is a 7 digit number that follows an "S" probabley designating this one was made by Samick for Ibanez.

Members pureanalog
Do RG550s made in Korea exist?
Members StringBreaker
Its not a 550, its got a {censored}ty trs trem on it, no edge or lo pro edge. I know a guy with a RG250 thats the same as that but a rosewood board. Might be a rg250.
Members fatfingaz
it can't be an RG550. They were all made in Japan

The {censored}ty trs you are referring to is the lo-trs II which the RG250 has. Mine has the lo-trs which so far seems to be pretty good. It hold its tune rock solid! 'S4' means it was made at the Samick factory in Korea in 1994. It is an RG450. Check the catalog out at http://www.ibanezrules.com/catalogs/us/1994/94013.jpg The Black one looks exactly like your guitar and with the same specs
Members pureanalog
Thanks for the info. I don't think that the RG450 in the catalogue has the same specs with mine. Mine does not have a Wizard II neck. Mine has a bulkier neck. Mine does not have a cheap Lo-Trs II korean tremolo. Mine has the Lo Trs Tremolo. I opened the back and it says Takeuchi made in Japan. I am confused now...
Members jdjonsson
Sounds like it got a new neck at some point.

From which RG model would that fat maple neck be then? And was the tremolo replaced too? Btw the serial number is stamped on the neck.
