Members flamethrower
Looking to make myself a 50s-style telecaster but I'm not sure where to turn for parts. I've narrowed it down to allparts.com and warmoth.com. How do these compare? Is one better than another? Is there a better alternative?
Members maxnew40
Warmoth is a higher quality and offer a few more options than allparts but they are more expensive. There is also Mighty Mite and WD on the budget side and USACG for custom stuff with even more options that Warmoth. Max
Members bowlingshirt
You may want to look at Stewart McDonald if you haven't already. http://www.stewmac.com/

For bodies, you should try Guitar Mill in Murfreesboro TN, http://guitarmill.com/ You should find a suitable neck at Stewmac and the best in original and copy hardware is at: www.guitarpartsresource.com If you wanna dabble in a genuine body, or parts then The Stratosphere parts out all Fenders from CIJ, Highway 1s up to Eric Johnsons. http://tinyurl.com/f3b4z They are however not a good place to buy a neck. A decent Ebayer for necks and other Fender stuff are: http://stores.ebay.co.uk/Fender-Authentic-Replacement-Parts_W0QQssPageNameZstrkQ3amefsQ3amesstQQtZkm They do a good lot of Mexican Fender stuff at very decent prices Warmoth of course will be a good place for a neck, but only really if you want something more than maple/maple, maple/rosewood, with a non standard back contour. USACGs necks are not Fender licensed and hence slightly off shape. Mighty Mite are decent enough quality. reckon that should do you....but I'd receommend Guitar Parts Resource for hardware above all others. When you're ready come back and ask us about pickups:D
