Members TomCTC
It's decent, but could use a tortoise guard and some covered pups to look amazing.

Members dabbler
I see you have a stL50...what's that like? To compare it to my Squier Affinity tele it has a thicker neck (i like 'em chunky) , is string through body which the Affinity is not so has more bite and twang. The one thing I like better on the Affinity is the neck pup (sweeter, tone), so I put a GFS vintage neck pup in the STL, which is better, but I'm having a little trouble getting the string balance I want (nit). My opinion on teles is "Why pay more than an SX?" Granted the tuners aren't the greatest (they aren't high ratio and bind in spots) but they WORK, and that's all I ask. I got mine for $55 at the store closing sale and so even with the pup change it only cost me like $90. But it is a solid guitar and I probably would never have changed the pup if I didn't have the Squier to compare it to. So it can now do jazz to country (and stuff in between) pretty well (I can't play country, but the tone is there).
