Members Roy
I believe they are owned by Fernandez (many come with sustainers). Don't know about current ones, but they were built in the Matsumoku factory in the '70s and 80s which is now Fender Japan. Fender couldn't compete so they bought the factory. I have an Electra LP built in the same factory. It smokes my Gibson in every way, particularly the neck. I love it to pieces and it's my new No. 1 (over my Gibson, Fender and yes...even my Rics). Members ArKay
They're still owned by Fernandes and some models are made in their Chinese factories which produce some pretty good stuff! http://www.fernandes.co.jp
Members Hoddy
The MIJ Burny's are excellent and considered some of the best Gibson clones of the 70's and 80s', don't know much about the current Korean and Chinese ones. There are some very, very knowledgeable guys over at www.tokaiforums.com who can help you out.
