Used is totally fine, but your search will be governed by what you are able to find on the market at the time you're ready to buy. I recommend that you get your money in hand, in cash, and then start looking at craigslist methodically, every day. Make a regular twice a week route that covers nearby guitar shops and hit them, asking them to call you if they get anything in trade that meets your needs. Be patient.
