Members 37point5
Hey All, My band, The Dirty Marmaduke Flute Squad, attended the Mid-Atlantic NACA convention last week. For those who don't know, NACA is the National Association for College Activities, and it's where all of the schools in the region send their delegates to book entertainment for the year. College gigs pay really well so a lot of bands, comedians, magicians, etc, attend these conferences hoping to make a bunch of money. We were part of a small "agency" so we didn't have to pay much more than travel expenses. I have to say that it was a really cool experience. We gave out a ton of our regular promo items (we had kazoos, temp tattoos, hot sauce, condoms, postcards, and CDs) and introduced hundreds of college students to our band. From a networking perspective alone it was a great success, but hopefully we'll also land a few gigs from it. Here's a video showing some of the crazy stuff we were doing there:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LQgOJtXpnuY Has anyone else gone to a NACA convention? If so, what's your opinion of the whole thing? Did you book any gigs? Ryanhttp://www.flutesquad.com
