Members Art_n_Music
Are there two different 'warm ups' to talk about? I think warming up in standby for a minute or two is useful for tube life. But I think the tubes warm up to higher temps as you are playing and cranking...seems to me that after 30-45 minutes the sound improves. I can't see that letting the amp sit in standby for 30-45 minutes would do anything there...it is only going to warm up so much before you start putting the juice to it. Members alwaysharp
I have a tube amp and I always let mine warm up. 2 hours is a bit much but I'll plug mine in and leave it on stand by while I set up my pedal board and get my guitar out. By then it's been a few minutes and it sounds fine. Also, if I go to take a break or something I just throw it in stand by. I don't turn it off until I'm totally done.
