Members Phil051300
Just wondering if, say in a small to medium sized church setting, if its loud enough over an unmic'd drum set? I'd like a cheaper amp that i could just leave at the venue, and i have the V-Amp 2 at home, so im used to the stuff. Thanks - BTW, its friday! Members Minitruth
Mine can go pretty damn loud. The clean settings are a bit volume-challengedbut I got a V-amp pro to use as a slave/preamp, this provides as much cleanvolume as I could possibly want. I have never gigged or played w/ a drummer, but IIRC Frets gigs with his all the time.

Members Minitruth
You know, I'm pretty sure you can use the V-amp2 into the "slave in"inputs on the back of the GMX-212, like I do w/ the V-amp pro. That doesreally help the clean volume, as it bypasses the GMX 212's preamp. Also, youcan use an external 4x12 cab with it. Downside is that it then bypasses theamp's 2x12's which would 'prolly be good for a stage monitor.
Members Phil051300
Sorry, im retarded with this stuff. You mean bypassing the internal pre-amp allows for more punch from the amp?
Members Minitruth
Sorry, im retarded with this stuff. You mean bypassing the internal pre-amp allows for more punch from the amp? The V-amp pro (probably the V-amp2 as well) then becomes the preamp. The V-amp's seem to be a lot more robust than the GMX onboard preamp.

Frets99
The best cleans are volume challenged compared to the distorted settings but still nothing to sneeze at. In a 2000+ ft room with high ceilings, I was at 3 - 4 volume clean and still being asked to lower my volume. My band had a drummer, percussionist, bass, another guitar, keyboards and a singer. (I get excited) I mic for clubs!
