Members jkelter
Guys I urgently need your help I have a fender strat and there is a lot of Hum / Buzzing noise from the guitar on any distorted sounds. If I turn down the vol on guitar it stops. Also if i touch the input jack plate the hum stops. Is this a grounding issue? Should I run a wire between the bridge and the jack plate to earth it? Members leopardstar
has your guitar been sneaking out at night doing tweak? or drinking a lot more than usual? btw yes it sounds like a ground prob, or a loose soldier joint on one of the grounds
Members jkelter
Thanks Lepordstar. I have checked the wiring and it is all good. Do you know if the plate is supposed to be earthed? I could run a wire from the bridge (which is earthed) to the plate.
Members RUExp?
Strats usually have a wire from the top of the volume pot through a small hole to the trem claw in back.
Members jkelter
Thanks RUExp. That wire is there OK. But I am wondering if I should also have a wire going from the vol pot to the output jack plate also
