Gotoh bridge on 335 copy - sounds better?

I replaced the bridge on my import Jay Turser 335 copy just because the original bridge intonation adjustment screws didn't turn very smoothly.

I picked up a Gotoh bridge off eBay and put it on when it arrived yesterday.

It is a lot smoother when adjusting intonation, but it also seems like the guitar sounds better and smoother with more sustain than it did with the old bridge.

Is this just my imagination or is this possible? By the way, I love this guitar.
