Looking for a custom guitar

Hey there,

 

I'm seriously thinking about getting a custom guitar.

I'd like to get something that is as good as customs ESP's and Jackons in terms of quality ... or better if that's possible ... without requiring me to sell the house!

I play mostly metal & shred stuff and I'm looking for tone and playability first, looks and then price.

 

Here's my list : Gutierrez, Carvin, Liberatore and Caparison.

Liberatore's a well known luthier in Montreal, his workshop is close enough to where I live so I could pay him a visit or two during the process ... I guess that's a nice plus.

I read a lot of good comments on Carvin's. I know they're a good bang for the bucks but are they really that good ?

Same thing with Gutierrez ... I loved the pics, they aren't that expensive ... but how do they compare with the giants ?

And what's the consensus here on Caparisons ? I don't dig the headstocks but these guitar are growing in popularity if I'm not mistaken ...

Warmoths are out because they only do bolt-ons.
