I heard the "longer than 8 digit" serial number is a possible way, but it is 100% efficient ? I also heard the first 4 digits of the SN is the date code, when exactly did the v3 come out ? I'm going to check one out "locally", wich is still an hour drive away, and I want to make sure It's a v3 before I can run with it...and I don't think the store will let me rip it open to see the tranny or the PC board !
