Members Cyber_Chyld
Hey guys, thought I'd drop by to pool your collective genious again I'm thinking about dropping a single coil sized Humbucker into my 62 Tele re-issue. I absolutely LOVE all the standard sounds I can get from the Tele. However, for songwriting and the occasional bit of session work I get in, it'd be nice to 'flip a switch' and really be able to burn with some overdrive. Hence I'm thinking about dropping a coil tappable Humbucker in there. 1.Do any of these SC sized HB's actually SOUND like a SC when tapped? That's really important for me, as I don't want to end up with just another HB sounding guitar. 2.I play through Marshall's, almost exclusively. 3.The tele currently has Texas Specials in, so I'm used to (and like) that HOT Tele sound. Any suggestions? Cheers in advance
Members Karma1
I recently installed a Duncan Little 59 in the bridge of my Tele Thinline. I installed it with a push-pull pot for series/parallel switching. I didn't go with the coil-split option because I didn't need that bright twangy single coil sound. But the series/parallel gives a full humbucker and a slightly thinner humbucker-lite tone. Very nice pickup for a Tele.
