need tips & links for repainting a guitar

Hey,

 

I just got some free beat up axes from a friend.

 

1 is a squier strat (black body, ugly painted orange pickguard). It worked.

 

the other is of unknown make (no markings), it's had its tuners removed, and parts of the bridge are missing.

 

Both bodies had stickers on them, and plenty of dings (the strat less dings).

 

My plan is to disassemble them, sand the rough spots smooth, then airbrush a new paint job, then airbrush clear coat until its sandable, then re-clear coat.

 

Sound like a plan?
