Members Shmoo
I have a travel guitar that just will not stay in tune. I'm wondering if it has anything to do with its short scale ie...should I be tuning it higher than standard pitch...would that help? Any thoughts or suggestions? Members GibsonQC
Which brand or model is it? Some of them are actually full-scale, so that shouldn't affect tuning, however if it's one of the cheaper models, the quality might be suspect. If it's a decent brand, full-scale, it could be that the strings are sticking at the nut, or there could be issues with the bridge. I know the "traveler" type where the strings wrap around the bridge and the tuners are on the body occasionally have issues.
Members D Carroll
Sell it, and buy a 3/4 or 1/2 sized classical, they can be found way cheaper than any travel guitar, and are serious guitars, often with decent tuners.
Members Shmoo
It's a pignose which I think is 24 1/4" scale. Just seems to whack out of tune everytime I tune it...perhaps it is time to change direction
