Members mparsons
Go! I'm upgrading my LTD MH-103 with some better pickups, and I've decided on a DiMarzio EVO 2 bridge, and YJM neck. Now I just need to figure out the middle position. The guitar is basswood body, maple neck, maple fretboard. My amp set up is in the signature. I'm already perfectly happy with my tone from the other two guitars I own, but I want something that can pull off jazz, blues, and progressive/shred a little more convincingly. Thanks! Members Judge Groovyman
I can't say that it will shred, but the Fender Texas Specials middle position SC is a great pup. That'd be my choice.

Members mparsons
Do they not make the Texas Special in black? Any more suggestions?
Members docjeffrey
I never use my middle pickup. I might as well put a handrolled ciggy in there like Santa Claus.

Members Chippy
Do they not make the Texas Special in black? Any more suggestions? You can get a black cover for those & just about every other SC. It just slides right on.
Members GarysBlues
You want to hear a GREAT middle position Single-Coil? Try a Bill Lawrence S2. They are constructed exactly like the original set Bill sold SRV. I was very reluctant to try these. But man it is a very good single-coil. Members GarysBlues
BTW mines inbetween a XL500R in the bridge and P-90 in the neck. There is NO volume D/O with the single coil. Not only are they Hot but they retain the Glassy, Clean Tone of a good Strat pick-up. This is the First set I've played by BL and I'm very impressed with them.
