Members leftyDaveZ
So....the Amp Forum just scares me, so I will post here. What would be the best of the Mesa 212s? Lonestar? I am jonesing for a Mesa but I don't have room for a head and cab, so I am opting for a 212. I want something with a bite when i need it but can handle a nice clean as well. Members LithiumZero
I love my Roadster 2x12 combo. It's killer from clean to mean and in between.
Members Delta0311
I've played a Lonestar (dont own one) and while it isnt built to be a high gain machine- it handles all those in between sounds really really well- maybe I am hooked but you cant go wrong with a Mesa -- and their 2x12's are built like tanks and put out the sound-- not just loud but with definition and clarity. Members PaulSter
I would need a lot more info to go on before recommending a Lonestar, like the one I own. Mesas have all the obvious attributes-- great tones, features, construction, etc. However, it totally depends on what you mean by 'bite' and what kind of clean tones you are seeking. For example, a Mesa clean is quite different from a Fender clean. FWIW, mine is a 1x12 widebody (same cab as 2x12). I use the internal speaker and love it like that, but currently am using it as a head into an Avatar 2x12 cab. PaulS
